Video Transcript

You already know that upselling customers is a proven way to increase your average order value and grow your business. But how do you push your upsells without being, well, too pushy? SegMetrics is here to help with that.

It’s no surprise why businesses love upsells. It’s a relatively easy way to generate more sales from the same amount of customers. Improving your upsells can generate more revenue even if your lead growth remains stagnant.

But the best upsells do more than just increase your transaction value. They provide additional value to your customers by helping them solve their problems better, faster, and more comprehensively through that additional purchase.

The real magic happens when you make upselling about your customer success, and not just your bottom line.

Now, this can present a challenge.

  • How do you know which offers your customers will appreciate and happily buy?
  • And those they’ll find too annoying or too pushy?

SegMetrics will take out the guesswork and answer those questions for you.

Now, let’s open up SegMetrics. First, we’ll navigate to Essentials and open up the sales report. This report gives you a detailed look at your sales, including total sales, revenue, and revenue. Top Products, Revenue by Order Type, Revenue by Segment, and so much more. Let’s focus on three widgets in particular.

  1. The Top Products widget. This ranks your products by number of orders and total revenue. It will give you a good feel for which products are most popular, as well as most impactful to your bottom line.

  2. The Top Bundles widget. This breaks down the performance of any product bundles you offer. This can show you which collections of products sell well together.

  3. The Product Grouping widget. This widget shows you all the different combinations of products sold together, and how frequently customers pair them. For example, if you’re looking for upsells for product A, like a bird feeder, you’ll be able to see what other products customers have already paired with a bird feeder, perhaps a specific type of bird seed. Knowing this can create upsells to delight your customers, aren’t pushy, and grow your business.

SegMetrics allows you to take the guesswork out of making decisions. Go with the data and you’ll have a much better chance of increasing your sales, bottom line, and your business. You’ll also gain a ton of happy customers along the way.

Well, that does it for this edition of Just Ask Ian. We have a ton more videos on the channel and we’re always dropping new content to help you optimize your marketing with SegMetrics. Until next time, happy marketing.
