Best MCP Servers for Marketing (2026)

Diagram of an MCP hub connecting marketing tools including Klaviyo, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Google Ads, Stripe, Zapier, SegMetrics, Canva, X Ads, Firecrawl, Google Analytics, and Semrush

The best MCP servers for marketing in 2026 are Klaviyo, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Google Ads, Stripe, Zapier, and SegMetrics. Klaviyo is free with any account and can create campaigns. HubSpot covers CRM and content. Ahrefs covers search and AI visibility. SegMetrics connects revenue back to the source. Most official servers are read-only.

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server is a connector that lets an AI assistant read and act on data inside a tool you already pay for.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Anthropic released it in November 2024. OpenAI adopted it in April 2025. It is now the standard way AI models talk to software.

Before MCP, you exported a CSV and pasted it into a chat window. The model saw a snapshot. It could not check anything. It could not go deeper.

With MCP, the model queries the live account. You ask a question. It pulls the data. It asks the next question itself.

The official MCP registry listed 9,652 distinct servers as of May 2026. About 606 of them sit in the marketing automation category. Monthly SDK downloads grew from 100,000 at launch to 97 million by March 2026.

Most marketers have never heard of it. That is the opportunity.

What can a marketing MCP server actually do?

It depends on the server. There are three kinds.

Read-only servers pull data and report. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Amplitude, and SegMetrics work this way. They answer questions. They change nothing.

Write-capable servers can act. Klaviyo can launch a campaign. HubSpot can update a deal. Stripe can issue a refund. X Ads can build a campaign.

Bridge servers connect to everything else. Zapier reaches 9,000 apps. Firecrawl reads any web page.

Read-only is where most marketers should start. The value is in the questions, not the actions.

The 12 best MCP servers for marketing

1. Klaviyo MCP (best free official server)

Klaviyo published its MCP server in September 2025. It is free with any Klaviyo account. It is hosted at mcp.klaviyo.com/mcp and uses OAuth.

It reads campaign and flow performance. It suggests subject lines based on your own historical data. It builds segments. It drafts emails, uploads content, and launches campaigns.

That combination is rare. Official, free, write-capable, and usable by a marketer without a developer. You need Owner, Admin, or Manager access on the account.

Ask it: “Show me flow performance for the last 60 days and tell me which one is decaying.”

2. HubSpot MCP (best for CRM and content together)

HubSpot runs a remote server at mcp.hubspot.com with OAuth 2.0 and PKCE. It exposes more than 30 tools.

It reads and writes contacts, companies, deals, tickets, products, quotes, and engagements. It reads campaigns, landing pages, and blog posts. It runs SQL-style queries against your CRM data.

Two limits matter. AEO tools require Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise. If your account has Sensitive Data enabled, activity and conversation data is blocked through MCP entirely.

3. Ahrefs MCP (best for search and AI visibility)

Ahrefs hosts its server at api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp with more than 100 tools. It covers Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Rank Tracker, and Site Audit.

The standout in 2026 is Brand Radar. It tracks how often AI models mention and cite your brand. If you care about getting picked up by ChatGPT and AI Overviews, that data is hard to get anywhere else.

It is not cheap. Plans start at Lite, $129 per month. There is no free tier and no separate MCP fee.

Watch the row cap. On Lite, every report truncates at 100 rows. The AI will summarize those 100 rows and never mention the other 900. That is the most common way to get a confidently wrong answer out of a marketing MCP server.

4. Semrush MCP (the Ahrefs alternative)

Semrush hosts at mcp.semrush.com/v2/mcp with OAuth. It covers domain overview, keyword research, and backlinks, plus a report catalog you can query directly.

The free Semrush plan does not include MCP. The cheapest qualifying tier is SEO Classic Pro at $139 per month. Semrush uses different plan names in its docs than on its pricing page, so confirm eligibility with support before you buy.

Client support is the broadest on this list. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and Perplexity.

5. Google Ads MCP (official, and read-only)

Google released an open-source Google Ads MCP server in October 2025. It lists accessible accounts, runs GAQL queries, and returns schema so the model writes valid queries.

It is read-only. It cannot create campaigns, change bids, or edit assets. Any tool promising to let AI run your Google Ads is using something else.

It runs locally through pipx or self-hosted on Cloud Run. There is no Google-hosted endpoint. That setup step stops most marketers.

6. Google Analytics MCP (official, and harder than it sounds)

Google publishes this one too. It runs reports, funnel reports, and realtime reports in plain language.

The repo is labeled Experimental. It is read-only. It is local install only, and it requires a Google Cloud project with the Admin API and Data API enabled plus Application Default Credentials.

That is a real barrier. There is a large gap between “Google has an official GA MCP server” and “a marketer can use it today.”

7. Stripe MCP (best for revenue questions)

Stripe hosts at mcp.stripe.com. It reads customers, subscriptions, invoices, and disputes. It writes payment links, coupons, promotion codes, products, and checkout sessions.

This one moves money, so Stripe built guardrails. Refunds and outbound payments require human confirmation through an approval URL. Unapproved requests expire in 24 hours. Sessions are revocable in the dashboard.

Stripe’s own documentation warns customers to be careful running its MCP server alongside others because of prompt injection. Take that seriously. More on it below.

8. Zapier MCP (best for everything without its own server)

Zapier generates a private endpoint for you at mcp.zapier.com. It reaches 9,000 apps and 40,000 actions.

That makes it the practical answer for every tool on your stack that has no MCP server of its own. It also has the best permission model on this list. You toggle individual actions on and off, with rate limits and audit logs.

It is available on every Zapier plan including free. Each tool call costs two Zapier tasks, so an agent that chains ten lookups burns twenty tasks.

9. SegMetrics MCP (best for attribution)

SegMetrics released its MCP server in May 2026. Setup takes about a minute through the third-party connection flow in your account.

It exposes 13 tools. The core one is run-query. It traces revenue back to first-touch source and campaign across the full funnel. It segments any metric by traffic source, list, tag, or product. It runs multi-step funnel drop-off analysis.

Two things make it different from a thin API wrapper. It is multi-account by design, so an agency can query across client accounts in one conversation. And it ships with an opinionated analyst framework that refuses to hand you an aggregate number without breaking it down by segment.

It is read-only. Plans start at $57 per month with a 14-day free trial.

10. Firecrawl MCP (best for competitor research)

Firecrawl hosts at mcp.firecrawl.dev/v2/mcp and also runs locally through npx. It ships 25 tools.

It scrapes, searches, maps, crawls, and parses. The monitoring tools track competitor page changes over time. There is a keyless free tier for scrape, search, and parse.

Use it for landing page teardowns, SERP research for content briefs, and bulk content audits.

11. X Ads MCP (best-designed write-capable ad server)

X launched its Ads MCP server in August 2026 at ads-api.x.com/mcp. It has 74 tools across 8 categories, and unlike Google’s it can write. Campaign creation, line item management, audience building, creative uploads.

The safety design is the part worth copying. Every campaign and line item is created paused. Nothing spends money until you activate it by hand.

Scopes are granular. Take ads.read and offline.access for a read-only agent. Add ads.write only when you want the agent to build.

It is free. Meta also runs an official ads MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads. LinkedIn and Reddit have no official servers, only community ones.

12. Canva MCP (best for creative production)

Canva ships an AI Connector that works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot. It searches your designs, generates content, exports files, and autofills Brand Templates.

The free tier works for basic actions. Brand Template autofill requires Canva Enterprise. Some actions consume Canva AI credits.

Do not confuse the AI Connector with the separate Canva MCP Server for developers at mcp.canva.com/mcp, which is waitlisted. Most articles blur the two.

Which MCP servers should marketers avoid?

Three warnings.

The archived WordPress server. Automattic/wordpress-mcp was archived on January 19, 2026. Many 2026 roundups still recommend it. The successor is WordPress/mcp-adapter, a plugin that needs WordPress 6.9 and a developer to install it.

Mailchimp Marketing. Mailchimp’s Transactional product has an official MCP server at mandrillapp.com/mcp. The Marketing platform does not. Campaigns, audiences, and automations are community servers only.

Shopify for merchant analytics. Shopify’s official MCP servers are built for shopping agents buying from your store. They are not merchant marketing tools. There is no confirmed official Admin MCP server for analyzing your own store performance.

Are MCP servers safe for marketing data?

Not automatically. Marketers carry more risk than most users, and the reason is specific.

Marketing agents read untrusted content by design. Scraped competitor pages. Inbound form fills. Ad comments. Review text. Support emails. All of it is text an attacker can write.

That text goes into an agent that may also hold write access to your CRM and your ad accounts. That is called indirect prompt injection, and researchers demonstrated it against MCP systems in April 2025.

The clearest case for marketers happened on September 25, 2025. A malicious npm package named postmark-mcp impersonated the real Postmark email server. It worked exactly as advertised. It also silently blind-copied every outgoing email to an attacker. Nothing looked broken. Snyk tracked it as the first confirmed malicious MCP supply chain attack. Postmark published its own advisory confirming the package was not theirs.

The wider numbers are not reassuring. Only 8.5% of MCP servers use OAuth at all, according to an Astrix audit of 5,200 servers in October 2025. The rest use long-lived API keys with no scoping and no expiry. Only 12.9% of indexed servers score as high trust.

Five rules that cover most of it:

  1. Prefer OAuth servers with revocable sessions over paste-your-API-key servers.
  2. Take read-only scopes until you have a reason not to.
  3. Require human confirmation on anything that writes or spends.
  4. Do not connect a scraper and a sending tool to the same agent without review.
  5. Verify the publisher namespace before installing anything local.

Which AI apps support MCP servers?

Claude has the deepest support. The desktop and web apps, Cowork, and Claude Code all handle local and remote servers with OAuth. Custom connectors require a paid plan.

ChatGPT added MCP under Developer Mode in late 2025. Paid plans only. Remote servers only, no local ones. Write tools are limited to Business and Enterprise.

Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, and Windsurf all support MCP well, but they lean developer. Windsurf caps you at 100 tools.

Consumer Gemini has no user-configurable MCP. Support lives in Vertex AI.

The practical answer in 2026: a marketer using MCP is on Claude or on paid ChatGPT. Everyone else is waiting.

How do you start with MCP servers for marketing?

Start with one server, not six.

Connecting several at once floods the context window before you ask anything. Ahrefs alone exposes over 100 tools. X Ads has 74. ActiveCampaign has around 80. Three of those at once and the model spends its attention reading a tool menu.

Pick the server that answers your most expensive recurring question. If that question is “which channel actually made money,” start with attribution. If it is “why did that flow stop converting,” start with Klaviyo. If it is “are we losing ground in AI search,” start with Ahrefs.

Then ask it something you would have paid an analyst to answer. Not “how many visitors did we get.” Ask “which traffic source produced customers who are still paying after six months.”

If you want a running start, we published 174 AI marketing prompts for attribution and analytics built for exactly this. Paste one in and see what comes back.

That second question is the whole point. It takes four dashboard exports and an afternoon. It takes an MCP server about forty seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best MCP server for marketing? Klaviyo is the best free official option because it is hosted, uses OAuth, works for any account holder, and can create campaigns rather than only read them. For attribution, SegMetrics. For search and AI visibility, Ahrefs.

Are MCP servers free? Some are. Klaviyo, Stripe, Google Ads, Google Analytics, X Ads, Amplitude, and PostHog are free to connect with an existing account. Ahrefs starts at $129 per month and Semrush at $139. Zapier is free but charges two tasks per call.

Do I need a developer to set up an MCP server? For hosted servers, no. Klaviyo, HubSpot, Stripe, Ahrefs, Zapier, and SegMetrics connect through OAuth in a few minutes. For local servers like Google Analytics, Google Ads, and WordPress, yes. Those need command line work and credential setup.

Can an MCP server change my marketing data? Only if it is write-capable and you grant the scope. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Amplitude, and SegMetrics are read-only. Klaviyo, HubSpot, Stripe, Zapier, and X Ads can write. Take read-only scopes first.

What is the difference between an MCP server and a Zapier integration? A Zapier integration runs a fixed sequence you build ahead of time. An MCP server gives the AI live access so it decides which calls to make based on what it finds. One automates a known path. The other explores an unknown one.

How many MCP servers exist? The official registry listed 9,652 distinct servers in May 2026, with about 606 in the marketing automation category. Counts above 17,000 include duplicates across registries.
